Windows Live Hotmail, is a free, web-based email client from Microsoft. It's free and offers unlimited space, alongside integration with Live Office and SkyDrive.
Windows Live Hotmail works perfectly well. Adding images, attachments and so on to your mails is easy, the inbox is well organized and clear, and includes neat filters. Drag and drop for messages is supported, so you can easily bin emails, and you can send big attachments.
Settings are standard, but really easy to understand. You can choose them for your inbox, adding, in some cases, dynamic effects which change with the time of day. Windows Live Hotmail only really fails when compared to Gmail. When you sign in, you are never taken directly to your inbox, wasting time. There are close-able ads, but they are much more intrusive than on other services. The split inbox/reading pane just means either your inbox or message space will be too small. It's slower than Gmail too.
One of the biggest remaining purposes of a Windows Live Hotmail account is its integration with Windows Live Messenger, which is still popular - although it no longer requires a Live account. If you are looking for a web mail account, Windows Live Hotmail is only really recommended if you are already attached to the Live suite of apps.
Despite continued improvements, Windows Live Hotmail remains behind the competition and a less dynamic experience than Gmail.

HOTMAIL IS ABSOLUTE CRAP DO NOT USE IT!!!! I had a hotmail account happily for 7 years or so never had any issues got send scam but w.e, all of a sudden hotmail blocks me and i tried retrieving it... More
